Description

Durable fiberglass construction allows for unlimited castings with proper care. All Crete Molds sink molds are internally reinforced to avoid any flex from the weight of your concrete. No additional internal reinforcement is required. Crete Molds concrete sink molds are manufactured with Crete Molds own innovative “rimlock" feature.

CONCRETE MOLD SET UP:

• Screws can be used an an option for securing your mold to your casting surface, if casting on melamine. Please note..make sure you screw through the rimlock and not into the mold. Or use silicone if casting on steel or composite casting deck.
• Apply a bead/gasket around the perimeter of your sink mold. This can be done with 100% silicone or plasticine clay.
• Use 2 1/2" drywall screw with a washer or silicone to mount the rubber drain plug to the mold. If you use a drywall screw, pre-drill the mold with a 1/8" drill bit.
• Apply a coat of tested concrete countertop release agent to the entire mold (inside and outside)

CONCRETE SINK REMOVAL:

• Using blocks of wood and 2x4's, create a bridge over the concrete sink mold. Position pipe clamps on the bottom of the rim and the top of the 2x4. Clamps should be placed in the furthest outer corners of the mold. Use at least 4 clamps whenever possible. All molds should pop out easily. If it doesn't pop easily, there is likely to be an issue with the application of release or prior contamination of the mold surface.
• If your mold has not popped out with a firmer tightening of the clamps, inject compressed air around the perimeter of the mold or use a hammer and block to tap around the perimeter of the mold with clamp pressure.
• Another option is to put ice inside your mold for 30-45 minutes, this will shrink the mold just enough allowing it to break free.

MOLD CLEAN UP:

• Clean your mold with soap and water immediately after each use.
• Waxing the mold after cleaning is recommended to protect the mold until its next use.
• Sanding your mold will cause staining of your concrete. Machined buffing compound should be used to reseal the gelcoat surface.

CRETE MOLDS RIMLOCK:

• Reinforces the mold.
• Prevents edges from chipping.
• Provides a holding mechanism for a removal/clamp pop out.

MOLD STORAGE:

• Store your mold(s) with care to ensure its longevity
• Avoid extreme heat and extreme temperature changes (just like concrete, fiberglass can warp)
• Keep stored in a cardboard box to avoid dust contamination.

All Crete Molds have a lifetime warranty against manufacturer defect. This does not include misuse of the molds (dropping the mold, prying the mold out with a screwdriver, scratches, or normal wear and tear).
