29" Dual Bowl Farm Sink Mold. Each bowl measures 13.5" x 16 7/8" x 8"
CONCRETE MOLD SET UP: - Screws can be used an an optional for securing your mold to your casting surface. Please note..make sure you screw through Crete Molds patent pending Rimlock and not into the mold.
- Apply a bead/gasket around the perimeter of your sink mold. This can be done with 100% silicone or plasticine clay.
- Use 2 1/2" drywall screw with a washer or just silicone to mount the rubber drain plug to the mold. If you use a drywall screw, pre-drill the mold with a 1/8" drill bit.
- Apply a coat of tested concrete release agent to the entire mold (inside and outside).
CASTING:Several methods can be used to cast the concrete sink. GFRC: (Glass Fiber Reinforced Concrete) is sprayed and hand packed into the form and around the mold. Wet Cast: Oatmeal like consistency of concrete is placed in and around the mold and is typically vibrated. A simple frame/box can be built around the mold to contain the concrete during this process. Hand Packed: A stiffer/drier concrete mix is hand packed into the form and placed around the mold.CONCRETE SINK REMOVAL: Using blocks of wood and 2x4's, create a bridge over the concrete sink mold. Position pipe clamps on the bottom of the rim and the top of the 2x4. Clamps should be placed in the furthest outer corners of the mold. For larger molds, use no less then 4 clamps. (i.e. for a 48" trough - 6 or more pipe clamps is recommended for removal). If your mold has not popped out with a firmer tightening of the clamps, one option is to inject compressed air around the perimeter of the mold. Putting ice inside your mold for 30-45 minutes will shrink the mold just enough allowing it to break free.MOLD CLEAN UP:Clean your mold with soap and water immediately after each use. Any stubborn concrete residue can be removed with a light, diluted acid wash (i.e. 5-1). It's important to neutralize the acid before it dries ion the mold with baking soda and water. Waxing the mold after cleaning is recommended to protect the mold until its next use.
